• Anyone can sell in the Auction House. You do not need to own a shop or be a staff member.
  
  
• Anything can be sold in the Auction House so long as you possess it. Items, manips, horses, ranks, prisoners, favors--anything. Feel free to be as creative as you wish!
  
  
• You can sell multiples of the same thing, one thing, a combination of things... there is no limit. You may offer several things in one auction and leave the buyer with the option of picking which they are bidding for.
  
  
• You must specify what things are allowed for the buyers to offer when bidding--for example, only money and items. You may say they can offer anything they want if you have no restrictions, but then you cannot complain if what they offer is not what you wanted.
  
  
• Discounts and deals from your own Agora shop cannot be used as a bid. Doing so is against the Agora policy that shop items cannot be used by the shop owner.
  
  
• If you put a time limit up and, at the time limit, you don't like any of the current bids, you can withdraw your auction and post it later or keep it for yourself.
  
  
• If you have a time limit set, you cannot close the auction before that time.
  
  
• If the auction is not given a time limit, then the seller can close it at any point.
  
  
• You do not have to sell to the last bidder. You sell to the bid you like the most. However, you must indicate which bid you like the most as time goes on, whether it be modifying it into your first post or posting it each time your favor changes to a new bid, so that buyers can make new, better bids and see what kind of bids catch your eye.
  
  
• When you post an auction, you must include a form that buyers can fill out and post their bids using. It must include all the information, such as what their bid is, what they're bidding on (if you allow packaging), etc. If you need help, you can message a staff member.
  
  
• If someone places a bid that you only want part of or you wish for them to make better, you can negotiate the exact bid with them over PM.
  
  
• Buyers can place more than one bid. The auction house works as a real auction--there is an object being sold and buyers can place bids, continuously trying to one-up and out-bid the others. Buyers may not double post.
  
  
• When the bids are too high for a bidder to continue with, they must post saying they have no more bids. That way, the seller knows whether to expect more from the bidder or not. So, for example, if you have made three bids, and the other buyers have begun to surpass bids that you could beat, you need to post saying you can no longer offer better bids, and that your last bid is the best you will offer. You need to do this even if you have only made one bid.
  
  
• Sellers cannot change, add, remove, etc., what they are selling after they post the auction.
  
  
• Everything you are selling must be clearly defined and stated. Buyers must know exactly what they are receiving.
  
  
• The title of your thread has to be the thing(s) you are selling. If you do not have enough room, end the title with "and more" to indicate there are other things being sold.
  
  
• Shop owners cannot sell items from their shop here. You may only sell things you personally own.
  
  
• To close an auction, the seller must first post "Going once" and then make a second post saying "Going twice" before they can post "Sold to [name here] for their bid of [bid here]" to allow buyers to post more bids. There must be a span of at least one hour between the posts. Do this even if there are no bids (the ending post will just be "closed" instead of "sold to") so that buyers who were lurking and waiting til the end are signaled to the close of the auction.
